Oil Refining

Trading and refining are Sirius Oil and Gas’ two commercial divisions. With the help of significant refineries in China and Russia, Sirius Oil and Gas was able to process more than 500,000 barrels per day. This facility manages gas logistics, product supply, bio and intermediate feedstock, and Sirius Oil and Gas operations. Petrochemicals and other products are produced by Sirius Oil and Gas. It runs three competitive inland refineries with a 17.8 million tonne annual capacity in China and Russia. The company is updating its selection of catalytic cracking catalysts with the assistance of specialists from the Institute for Issues of Hydrocarbon Processing of the Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences.

The responsibility for creating catalysts for hydro-processes falls to the Kazakhstan Institute of Catalysis. Kazakhstani researchers have already created catalysts for hydrotreating middle distillates, enabling them to produce a product that is sulfur-free and satisfies all Euro-5 standards. The Company has recently concentrated its refining efforts on satisfying market demand for premium petroleum products. Refinery upgrades over time have enabled Sirius Oil and Gas to increase the variety, caliber, and competitiveness of its product offerings.

A turning point in Kazakhstan’s history has been reached with the reconstruction of this oil refinery. In accordance with TR TS 013/2017 Technical Regulations, environmental class K5 motor fuels were produced at a 100% rate for the domestic market of Kazakhstan during the program’s implementation. Since 2018, a lot of the Company’s refineries have started churning out AI-95-K5 Euro-6 and AI-100-K5 motor gasoline with improved operational and environmental characteristics. The refinery creates aromatics, liquid paraffin, roofing and insulation materials, and other petroleum products. The refinery manufactures bitumens, jet fuel, roofing materials, diesel fuel, and other goods of superior quality for export. The industrial facilities of Sirius Oil and Gas are growing yearly. To enhance industrial and environmental safety, increase productivity, and reduce costs, the refinery is creating a tiered process flow diagram innovation strategy.

By altering the composition of raw materials and rearranging component flows throughout the corporation’s refineries, the company anticipates having a synergistic effect after modernization. Improved control over the execution of investment programs and timetable optimization of refinery support project implementation are all positive effects of implementing Sirius Oil and Gas efficiency management and operational expenditure optimization approaches. A plan for implementing the Sirius Oil and Gas integration synergy has been developed and approved in order to ensure that this potential is realized, and its successful implementation will significantly increase the effectiveness of the oil refinery block. By the end of 2022, the refinery had processed 2 million tons of crude oil, solidifying its hegemony over Russia’s refining output.
